After the Replicants initial logo & jersey design was rejected by Vancouver Parks Board, the captain contacted me to produce a logo & jersey design as quickly as possible. The season had long since begun, so his main design concern was to differentiate the jersey colours from everything currently being worn in his league and division. This called for something a little different, inspired by Los Angeles Kings jerseys of the 1970’s and the BladeRunner themed team name from the same era.
